About muscle degradation disease
I don’t really know if this is the right place to ask, but I can’t find anything online. I’m currently trying to write a book, in which one of my characters dies of a muscle degenerative disease. My problem is that he’s a baseball star on his school team. I want him to go from showing no obvious symptoms to him falling over during a game and needing to be hospitalized, with him dying at most a few weeks afterwards. Is there any disease that fits this description? Thank you in advanced.

A baseball player or any athlete dying suddenly on the ground is the typical presentation of a disease called as Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which is a disease of heart muscles. Other than this other degenerative disease of muscles are usually genetic and the history of weakness usually starts in first or second decade of life and most of them are slowly progressive and don’t have any treatment available at present. They are called genetic myopathies
