Hi, It's evident that your son is a brilliant person with high level of motivation. He has a realization that the subjects he has been studying are comprehendible without external support such as teaching, assistance from other students or any other study aids a college would offer. He also has the level of motivation it takes to study alone. He might not find the syllabus tough, teaching interesting and company of other youngsters meaningful. He or his thinking will be rarely understood by others. Overall college isn't keeping him interested or engaged in many ways creating adjustment issues. There could be several other things going on in his mind which needs to be explored and understood to bring out his strengths and help him adjust with society .
