6/9 vision
Hello Doctor, My 6 year old kid got checkuped her eyes in school and she got 6/9 for both RE and LE. Is it normal or should I consult eye doctor?

School eye check ups are only screening tools and not always very accurate. I recommend an eye check up as a routine for all kids even with no symptoms before they reach age 5. Since your child has presumably never had an eye check up with an eye doctor before, it would be worthwhile to seek an appointment. Hello He could have minor refractive error. It is better to consult local ophthalmologist

6 year old kid reading 6/9 may or may not have a small number, mostly a very small number we do not prescribe( presuming there are no other issues) , but surely to keep under follow up as the number may increase with age...
