56F,Post surgical acute pancreatitis
My mother, 56F, had repeated bouts of 103fever for 2 days and was hospitalized on 11th August. The fever subsided after 8 days. She had lot of cough as well. In the due course, the doctor did a CT scan and found multiple confluent necrotic lymph nodes around peripheral, hepatic and other blood vessels. A failed open lymph node biopsy done, pancreatic tissue instead extracted. Post surgery,acute pancreatitis, fluid collection at the head. a NJ feeding tube placed.in hospital, still (not icu).

It's acute fluid collection. If it's less than 10 ml, will get absorb itself. Any large collection post surgery , and if patient is having spiking fever, raised Total leukocyte counts needs a drainage of collection ( CT GUIDED PER CUTANIOUS DRAIN ).
