Schizophrenia

Hi, My mother suffers from schizophrenia. She got it 2.5 years back. She would listen to sounds that did not exist, she would feel some one is hurting her loved ones. She would say bad things to others. While medicines were effective but she suffered from constant constipation, bloating, belching and insomnia and also lost interest in working. The only thing she talks about how medicines made her life worse. Now she only takes 1/4th of prescribed medicines and cries many times and blames us for those medicines. Every morning she cries for at least 3 hours. However symptoms which she initially had do not exist. What to do?

Alcohol addiction & abuse

Dear Doctors, My parents are suffering from alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse. I am sure this is how it has been for the last 25 years or more, considering I'm 25. Everytime my parents consume alcohol, I feel they are more open to disclose a bothering problem about each other (even something small and ridiculous to fight over) and fighting like dogs. There has been cases where the neighbour had to come down due to the extreme noise created. As a child, I have always hated them for this. But with age, I have tried explaining to them how it affects us and the family and how they should stop drinking. But they only take it personally and say I am not perfect either and I do not have the right to preach them. Today I have reached a point where I do not want to live with them, just to escape this drama everyday and night. But my brother has to live through this everyday. I know my parents need professional help to come out of the addiction. But I do not know where to start. Please help

Bipolar Disorder

I visited Dr.Madhukar of Cadabams, JP Nagar in Feb 2016 when I was suffering from depression cycle of Bipolar disorder. I had quit my job as I could no longer focus and concentrate on work due to anxiety stress & depression. I was totally cut off from friends & collegues. I was sleeping all the day ruminating about the failure at my proffessional front. I was prescribed Licab 300mg along with Serta 50. I am feeling stable now. Able to focus and concentrate but in the process I have stopped sleeping at night. I am awake the whole night watching football Euro 2016. I feel this is the trigger for hypo mania.
