Dr. Sujit Sarkhel

Dr. Sujit Sarkhel is one of the top psychiatrists of Kolkata. He did his post- graduation from Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, where his original research on "Conduct Disorders in Schoolchildren" won him a national award in 2005. Dr. Sarkhel presently works as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at SSKM (PG) Hospital in Kolkata, where he looks after the Child Guidance Clinic apart from General Adult OPD twice a week. He provides consultation to patients at various private clinics in Central and South Kolkata and Howrah. Apart from major psychiatric disorders, academic and behavioral problems in children are his special areas of interest.Dr. Sujit Sarkhel has been in the field of psychiatry for more than a decade now and during this period, he has helped countless people live more fulfilling lives. He is actively involved in research activities, academic writing, and training of postgraduate students in the Psychiatry Department of SSKM Hospital in Kolkata. Dr. Sarkhel has more than 40 publications in national and international journals, as well as chapters in textbooks. He has appeared on several TV and radio programs to raise awareness about mental health issues. He has delivered invited lectures at numerous academic conferences all over India. He is also the editor of the Bengal Journal of Psychiatry since 2013.
