Dr. Ram Dasgupta started his career in the field of Psychiatry in the year 1982. He worked as an assistant to late Dr. Niranjan Chakraborty (Professor & Head of the Department of Psychiatry in various medical colleges) while persuing his post graduate studies from 1976-78. Working with Dr. Chakraborty provided him with valuable exposure on how to handle psychiatric cases in private practice. Equipped with applied knowledge and confidence on how to make proper diagnosis, on how to select the correct psychotropic drugs, along with awareness of their side effects and management, on how to select genuine cases of electroconvulsive therapy, procedure of application and complication management, he began his independent practice in psychiatry. Dr. Ram Dasgupta has treated several psychiatric cases successfully. Exceptions are particularly deteriorated cases, that are a result of interrupted treatment and prolong untreated conditions.Formerly he was a visiting psychiatrist at Sarkar Institute of Mental Health and Psychotherapeutical Research.He is a fellow member of Indian Psychiatric Society, and has received various accolades.At present he is an active senior psychiatrist practicing in Kolkata.He participates in various seminars to make himself updated with recent advances in the field of psychiatry.

Off late, my staff ( domestic help) had been suffering from depression.
I decided to consult this doctor.
The doctor diagnosed his condition and gave my staff some medicines.

I was in a wrong place as he is all about medicine and prescription, ***** * **** ************* ** ***** *** **** ********** ** ******* ** I am not suicidal or I eat or sleep properly. If you are looking for a psychological help I will not recommend this place. If you know that you only need medication or you have a prominent mental desease then you may consult him. If you are extremely confused or lost this is not the right place. The problem I have, what I call is 'urbun depression'.. ********** ** *** *** ********** * **** Just my experience you may go to him but only if you are not confused with your problem.
so bad. I booked an appointment via practo. I visited the clinic and they said I don't have an appointment need to enter my name and wait for the doctor. after sometimes the doctor calls my name I go inside and he asks me if my booking was from practo. I realised the doctor had the information but the clinic didn't. His behaviour ws very rude, unprofessional. didn't even check my assessment report. He then goes ahead and prescribed two meds. And asks for cash. I said I'm not carrying any csh with me I either have card or upi. Then he says very rudely that how come I'm visiting a doctor without cash. I said in my experience doctors accept card payment or upi. He then says go get some cash and holds my items that is my previous prescriptions and reports with him. It was such a nightmare of experience.

My wife Sushila Sahu was suffering from depression and savior stress from the last 1(one) month ago. She couldn't able to attend her office (Bank) . She seems like a psychiatric patient.
