Dr. Praveen Kumar

Dr. Praveen Kumar is a child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and also Neuropsychiatrist. He is attached to Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata since last 6 years. He has done his training from prestigious Christian Medical College Vellore. He has done MD Psychiatry and 2 year fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has participated and conducted workshops in various areas of child and adolescent mental health. His areas of interest are Autism, ADHD, Developmental delay, Adolescent emotional problems, and substance abuse. For the last 6 years, he has been practicing as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and attached to the Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata where he deals with Adult and Child Neuropsychiatric cases. Furthermore, he is doing research on developmental regression in children with Autism and the efficacy of the early intervention in Autism. His other areas of research are autoimmune encephalitis and functional neurological disorders in Adults. He has attended various national and international conferences on Child and Adolescent Mental health. He is member of Indian Psychiatry society,Indian association for child and Adolescent mental health,World federation of ADHD,International neuropsychiatry association. He visits schools for consultations and organises workshops and CMEs on school mental health and adolescent mental health.
