Dr. Lav Kumar Kacker

After completion of M.S – Gen. Surgery in 1987 from premier institute of India – KGMU, Lucknow, fascinated by newly emerging speciality of Surgical Gastroenterology, He joined super speciality programme at SGPGIMS Lucknow, During training, He was fortunate to be associated with First Laparoscopic Surgery of U.P performed by Prof. T. Udwadia. Along with two of my colleague, He was awarded first M. Ch. Degree in Surgical Gastroenterology from North India in 1993. In pursuit of excellence, He joined KEM Hospital Mumbai as SRF in 1994 and gained valuable experience in endoscopic surgeries. Since then served his alma matar KGMU, Lucknow in various positions viz SRF; Lecturer; Assist. Professor and then Associate Professor from 1996 in a department of surgery. In 2006, a new department of Surg. Gastroenterology was carved out & he helped, in establishing the department with help of his other colleagues. To facilitate his work in an unhindered environment he resigned in 2009 from the post of Professor Of Surgical Gastroenterology. Since then he serving society as the senior surgical consultant at Primus Medicare & Nishat Hospital, Lucknow. In 2010 he started Bariatric Surgery, again a first in U.P.
