I reached out to Dr Supriya Satapathy in early October with the intention of addressing my negative thought patterns, suicidal ideation, and strained relationships within my family. Over the past two and a half months, I have experienced significant and positive changes in my overall well-being. There has been a noticeable improvement in my mood, appetite, and digestion, and I have gradually begun to enjoy even the small moments in life again.
One important realization during this journey was the adverse impact that excessive social media consumption had on my mental health. I have since stopped mindless scrolling, and even when exposed to toxic content, I find myself far less reactive and emotionally affected.
My relationship with my husband and mother-in-law has also improved considerably. Although mine was a love marriage, we faced several challenges over time. Recently, we relocated from a metro city back to our hometown and began rebuilding our lives from the ground up. This transition brought significant changes to our daily routines, with frequent visitors and social obligations, which added to the stress. Simultaneously, changes in my professional life had a severe impact on our personal life, as exhaustion and burnout led to a breakdown in regular communication between my husband and me.
The cumulative effect of these changes took a toll on my mental health, and I struggled with depression for nearly six months. At that point, I decided to seek professional help and came across Dr. Supriya Satapathy’s profile on Practo, following which I booked an appointment.
Dr. Satapathy has been extremely patient and attentive, giving me the time and space to openly express my concerns. Her approach helped me understand how psychiatrists play a crucial role in healing deep-rooted mental and emotional trauma. After four sessions, I can confidently say that I am doing much better. She also took the initiative to meet with my husband and mother-in-law to understand the root causes of my issues and guided all of us toward a healthier and more supportive environment.
With the combined support of my family and Dr. Satapathy’s professional guidance, my recovery has been faster and more effective than I expected.
I am sharing this review in the hope that others facing similar challenges will feel encouraged to seek professional help. Timely and appropriate support can truly make a meaningful difference and significantly improve one’s quality of life.

First of all, I want to thank her. She is such a friendly and understanding doctor.
I visited her for my daughter’s mental health issues, and she treated her very well by understanding the problem from both the child’s and the parents’ perspectives. *** ** * ***** ****** **** **** ** **********My situation before going to Dr. Supriya mam was bad, and it was the same for my daughter as well. Our days started with sadness. My daughter was very depressed and went to college disinterested, not able to focus on her studies, and feeling dull in college. She kept rethinking about situations, which made her more negative, and she would come back home with anger, tiredness, arguments, and negative thinking.
All this was unbearable for a mother to see her daughter like that.
One day, my daughter and I decided to visit a doctor. While searching on Practo, we found Dr. Supriya Satapathy mam.
I am glad we visited her. She spoke with me and my daughter separately, and then together, and gave us good counselling. Now we are happy, and all the situations are moving in the right way.
Mental health really matters.
As per mam’s counselling, I understood that this is happening to many children because of social media, screen time, and teenage problems.
Believe me, she can guide a child in a beautiful way, and it can be a life-changing process.
Thank you, Dr. Supriya Satapathy mam.

Sir,
Mental health is a taboo and anyone who tries to speak up is denigrated. Yet, it was with great pain that I came to you for help. I visited you for a consult a few months back and was there on time, as per the appointment, at your hospital, only to find that you were pre-occupied with another patient.
I didn’t mind waiting for my turn because I needed help, I needed someone to tell me what was happening. I hoped that you, being one of the highest rated psychiatrists in Vizag, would listen to my troubles and give a conclusive diagnosis. But that wasn’t meant to be.
You didn’t ask me what caused my anxiety. You didn’t gauge my mental environment. To be honest you didn’t care why I came to you in the first place. All I got from you was a prescription, written on it was “mild depression” and one anti-depression which begs the question if it was that easy to diagnose depression just from a few words I uttered.
My entire consultation lasted 5 mins with a wait time of 45+ minutes and an astounding fee of 2000 rupees. I pretty much lost hope in your establishment when I was charged such an amount *** ** ************* **********
I know you wouldn’t care, but if you are reading this please understand that by not enquiring or not listening to the plights of your patients ***** ***** **** ****** **** ****** ******* ****** People come to you because nobody else will heed to their sobs and when you yourself won’t listen, your patients will lose hope.

I went through a very difficult phase after my first heart break, I struggled with loneliness, constant crying, anxiety and even panic attacks for almost an year. when i visited Dr. Supriya mam she listened to me patiently for more than an hour and also spoken to my parents as well. She understood my situation deeply and suggested the right medication and guidance based on my condition. In the last 2 months, I've seen a huge improvement. My sleep issues, panic attacks, and anxiety have reduced a lot and I genuinely feel like I'm recovering. And also unlike may doctors who forget after the consultation, she actually checks on you regularly to see how you're doing. If you are going through such a tough phase, I would definitely recommend her.
