I had been consulting Dr. Unnikrishnan Nair for chronic nasal blockage and a constantly running nose for nearly 5 years. Early on, he had identified the deviated septum and sinus issue clearly — explaining exactly what was happening anatomically and why it was causing the recurring blockage. He recommended a Septoplasty, but I kept holding back, choosing medications and hoping things would resolve on their own.
What I appreciated through all those years was that Dr. Nair never pushed. He was patient every single time I came back with the same problem and the same hesitation. He answered every doubt I had about the surgery, addressed every fear, and never once made me feel judged for delaying the decision. When I finally asked him honestly whether it was worth going through with it, he told me simply that it would make a significant difference in my breathing, and that the blockage would be gone for good. That clarity is what made me finally commit.
The surgery itself was smooth, and his guidance through recovery was thorough and reassuring. By my very first follow-up, I already knew it had worked. Breathing freely, sleeping through the night, being able to work out without feeling half-blocked, and actually focusing at work without constant discomfort – things I hadn't fully experienced in years came back all at once.
