My sister was suffering from severe breathing difficulties for years. To find out what was wrong, we consulted multiple famous ENT doctors in Trichy. We eventually learned she needed a combined Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy surgery.Initially, my sister was terrified of both the surgery itself and the extreme costs. One famous doctor quoted ₹2–3 lakhs, while another asked for ₹40,000–50,000 just for the tonsillectomy alone. ** **** ******* ****** *** ***** *** ******* ** ***** ********* **** *** ************* ******* ** ********** **** **** ***** ** ***** *** **** *** ************ ** *** ******* *** ******** **** ********** ****** ** ******** ** ******** *********** ******** ***** ***** ****** ******** I want to talk about finding the **** doctor who is truly accommodating for a middle-class family. We eventually looked into Dr. G. Viswanathan Hospital, knowing its reputation as a trusted, charitable hospital for cancer patients that operates at a much lower cost. We booked an appointment with Dr. Ronald Anto at GVN Riverside Hospital.Dr. Ronald Anto is incredibly polite, down-to-earth, and very clear with his words. He is kind, approachable, and comforted us instead of scaring us. He explicitly stood by his statement that this is a completely elective surgery, meaning it was not mandatory if we chose not to do it for any reason. He gave us an approximate estimate of ₹65,000–70,000 for both issues using Coblation (which people often refer to as laser surgery). This price is highly convenient and reasonable for a middle-class family.Consulting with him gave us the hope and confidence to proceed because he is just that good. After discussing it as a family, we decided to go ahead and book the surgery date. The hospital asked us to admit my sister the night before the surgery to complete the necessary scans. All the required scans cost around ₹8,000, and we were able to get everything done conveniently under one roof inside the hospital. On the day of the procedure, it took about two hours from the time she entered the Operation Theatre (OT). Afterward, Dr. Ronald Anto called us in to inform us that the operation was highly successful and that my sister was completely fine. He even showed us the tissue that had been causing her decades of discomfort. She recovered well in the GVN general ward over the next two days. Dr. Ronald visited her every single day during her stay, guiding us perfectly on the post-surgery do’s and don’ts. While his post-surgery care is excellent, it would have been even better if he could have visited at least twice a day or slightly more often—though we understand he has busy surgical commitments. Thankfully, the scheduled duty doctors from different shifts stepped in to check on her very frequently. The hospital and bathrooms were exceptionally clean. The nursing staff was incredibly helpful. One particular nurse was so supportive that we offered her a monetary tip out of gratitude. With a pure heart, she politely rejected it and said, "It is my duty to serve you, ma'am, thank you."In terms of the final finances: the operation itself cost ₹35,000, while the hospital stay, medications, and miscellaneous expenses came to around ₹38,000. This brought the hospital subtotal to ₹73,000. When you include the initial ₹8,000 scan fee, the grand total came to around ₹81,000. While the actual final cost was slightly higher than the initial verbal estimate, I believe this happens at every hospital and is perfectly normal. It was entirely worth it.To anyone reading this long review: you might think I am overly praising Dr. Ronald sir. You don't just have to take my word for it. ** **** ******* ******** ********* ** ****** *** ************* *** ************** *** *** **** ***** **** *** **** I truly believe you will eventually choose Dr. Ronald Anto*** ** *********** *** **** ****** *** **** ******* ** ******* ********** *** ************ ********* Stay safe!
