Dr. Ketan Vagholkar

Dr. Ketan Vagholkar is Professor of Surgery at the D.Y. Patil University School of Medicine in Navi Mumbai, India. He completed his MBBS in 1989 from the Topiwala National Medical College in Mumbai. Subsequently he did his Master’s Degree in General Surgery form the same college. He became Diplomate of the National Board, New Delhi in 1993. He holds prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has trained under eminent world authorities, Prof. Markus Beuchler, Prof Helmut Friess and Prof. Paul Sugarbaker in Switzerland and the USA.Dr. Vagholkar’s professional biography has been published in Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare (2006). He is a recipient of various national and international awards for his contribution to healthcareHe has an extensive surgical experience spanning over 25years. He has over 150 publications to his credit. His areas of research interests are surgical site infections, hernias especially incisional hernias, resistant foot ulceration, breast cancers and gastrointestinal surgery.
