Dr. Jatin Kothari

Dr. Jatin kothari is a fulltime consultant nephrologist and transplant physician at hinduja hospital and hinduja health care,mumbai. he is also the treasurer of apex kidney foundation, an NGO which is dedicated to create awareness about prevention and treatment of kidney disease and providing subsidised high quality kidney care in this country. He completed his MBBS,MD and DM in nephrology from Seth GS Medical college and KEM hospital in mumbai being a university topper with distinction honors in all these exams.He took further advanced fellowship and scholarship training in toronto-canada and columbia- USA for three and a half years before coming back to india as his goal was to do something for people of this country and make a difference in their lives.Jatin is the only doctor from his extended family of diamond merchants and had a single minded vision to make his education count to help the needy and reduce suffering.His wife-sheetal is a commerce graduate and a home maker and his two kids-jash and natasha are 13 and 11 and schooling at present.He is an avid sports fan and travels all around the world for conferences and cricket matches.He has had a brilliant academic and professional career,having lectured all over the country and published and presented more that 40 papers at national and international forums.he is currently working in the field of academic nephrology education and swap transplant procedures all across the country. he along with his colleagues established the apex kidney foundation and apex swap transplant registry in 2008 and 2010 respectively to look at innovations and new ways of improving kidney care and legal transplants in the country.
