Dr. Rooney Touma

Dr. Rooney Mtanous Touma is a Specialist Orthodontist attached to the Department of Dentistry at the Jumeirah branch of Medcare Medical Centre. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry from the Jami't Al Ba'ath, Homs, Syria and his Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the Syrian Board of Orthodontics. He is a member of the Syrian Orthodontists Association.He commenced his career as an Orthodontist, doing part-time jobs in Syria, gaining varied experience in his field. He worked briefly at the Seif Beauty Clinic, following which he practised privately before moving to the UAE. In Dubai, he joined Silesia Dental Clinic as an Orthodontist.Dr. Touma’s expertise ranges from correcting teeth and jaw mal growth to managing misalignment, using various orthodontic devices. He uses metal or ceramic braces, aligners, and maxillary expansion for teenagers and adults with the support of mini-screws and pre-surgical treatment and planning. He has successfully treated retracted mandibles with removable or fixed functional appliances, retracted maxillas with a facemask appliance, cross bites with removable and fixed appliances, misaligned teeth with metal or ceramic braces and aligners, narrow smile with skeletal expanders for teenagers, and expanders supported with mini-screws in adult patients and protruding teeth with teeth extractions.Dr. Touma is extremely fitness-conscious and enjoys playing Soccer, swimming and hiking, whenever he finds the time. He speaks Arabic and English.
