Dr. Jessica Celina Fernandes is a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Medcare Hospital, Sharjah. She obtained her MBBS from Father Muller Medical College and her MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, both of which are affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore, India. She also holds a Certification in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus from the Public Health Foundation in India. She holds a Fellowship in Laparoscopy from the Bangalore Endoscopic Surgery Training and Research Centre, a Fellowship in the Clinical Application of Laparoscopy and Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, granted by the Karnataka Medical Council, as well as a Fellowship in Cosmetic Gynaecology from the Institute of Laser and Aesthetic Medicine, New Delhi. She is a member of the Bangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.With more than a decade of experience in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr. Fernandes has worked in India and the UAE. She commenced her career as an Assistant Professor at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore and later moved to the UAE as a Consultant at Aster Hospital, Sharjah and Dubai. She brings with her a repertoire of knowledge and is known for her expertise in procedures like hysteroscopy, vaginal hysterectomy, and both normal and Caesarean deliveries.Dr. Fernandes is proficient in the management of endometriosis, adenomyosis, and fibroids and performs laparoscopic gynaecological surgeries. She treats ovarian cysts, irregular periods, abnormal discharge, polycystic ovaries, pelvic organ prolapse and post-menopausal bleeding. She gives special attention to patients with high-risk pregnancies, cervical incompetence and miscarriages, does cancer screening, advises patients on contraception, insertion and removal of contraceptive devices and manages adolescent health. She also performs cosmetic gynaecology, infertility treatment, hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomy, treatment of torsion, and manages ectopic and molar pregnancy.
