Dr. Anoop Narendran

Dr. Anoop Narendran is a Specialist in the Department of Neurosurgery at Medcare Hospitals. He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Calicut University in India followed by an MCh in Neurosurgery from Kerala University of Health and Applied Sciences also in India. He holds a Fellowship in Advanced Spine Surgery from Amrita Institute of Medical Science & Research Centre, India. He had the opportunity to be a Clinical Observer at Cleveland Clinic, Florida, USA, and Bundang Hospital, Seoul, South Korea. He is a member of the Neurosurgical Society of India, the European Association of Neurosurgeons, Kairali Neurosciences, the Association of Spine Surgeons of India and AO Spine.During the initial days of his career Dr Narendran worked as a visiting consultant neurosurgeon at Aster Mims hospital calicut where he performed neurosurgical brain and spine surgery which involved diagnosing and treating the brain and spine conditions . He then joined meitra hospital calicut as a senior consultant neurosurgeon performing brain and spine surgeries . He was also a visiting consultant at starcare hospital and MVR cancer centre both in calicut during these periodDr. Narendran‘s skill and expertise in his chosen field covers surgery for brain and spine trauma, paediatric brain tumours, hydrocephalus, Spina bifida, cerebral aneurysm, pituitary tumours and brain tumours. He performs the latest minimally invasive( keyhole) spine surgeries, and shunt procedures and administers transforaminal spine injections to treat his patients. He has successfully treated degenerative diseases of the spine like cervical and lumbar disc prolapse, spinal canal stenosis, fractures of the spine and skull, head injuries, Glioma, meningioma, acoustic neuroma, neurofibroma, schwannoma and malignant spine tumours. He is proficient at managing acute and chronic subdural bleeds and hypertensive intracerebral bleeds.
