Occupational therapy is the use of assessment and intervention to develop, recover or maintain daily meaningful activities of an individuals

General inclusions are ADLS-activities for basic survival, IALDS to support daily living within homeband outside, rest and sleep, education activities based on formal and informal, work, play, leisure, social participation.

Diseases treated are injuries causing amputation, stroke, heart troubles, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, mental health problems, burns, spinal cord injuries, Downs syndrome, mentally ill or emotionally disturbed individuals.

Amputees, heart attack victims, mentally challenged kids or adults, burn victims and people with head injuries can benefit from occupational therapy.

Nowadays all major hospitals have an occupational therapy department. Along with this there are a lot of occupational therapy centres all over where private consultation are also available.
