Mr. Nirav Mehta

Dr. Niravkumar N. Mehta, is currently the Principal, Associate Professor, and Postgraduate Teacher at Hari Jyot College of Optometry, Navsari. He completed Master of Optometry (Gold Medal) from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune in 2009 and immediately joined the institution as an Assistant Professor the same year. He has been actively involved in teaching and clinical work for over 14 years.He hold a Ph.D. in Optometry from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (2022) with research focused on glaucoma assessment using OCT and perimetry correlations.His clinical and academic journey includes multiple international fellowships, such as:FIACLE (Fellow, International Association of Contact Lens Educators) – 2011FAAO (Fellow, American Academy of Optometry) – 2021FOVDR (Fellowship in Optometric Vision Development & Rehabilitation) – 2025ASCO Fellowship in Dispensing OpticsAustralian Awards Fellowship, Sydney – 2013IACLE Travel Award, BCLA London – 2022He currently serve as the Vice President of the Optometry Council of Gujarat and am an Associate Member, College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), California. He also lead the Vision Therapy Clinic at Rotary Eye Institute.Alongside academics, He has been offering clinical consultation at Vijay Optical House for over 15 years, focusing on comprehensive eye examinations, binocular vision assessment, and vision therapy.He has been honored with:Best Optometrist of the Year (2020)Best Educator of the Year (2022) – Optometry Council of IndiaIn December 2024, he published his first book:“Biostatistics in Optometry: A Practical Guide to SPSS.”
