Dr. Sudesh Prabhakar

Dr Sudesh Prabhakar retired from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh in April 2014, after a distinguished service of 42 years. He was Head of the Department of Neurology for 23 years. He has been instrumental in developing the teaching programme in the specialty of Neurology in India. He is interested in patient care as well as research. He has extensive experience in the management of strokes, headache, epilepsy, Parkinson disease and Dementia. His field of research includes Stem cell treatment in MND, Treatment of Dementia, and diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.His areas of expertise are Epilepsy, Headache, Stroke, Parkinsonism and Dementia including MND. He is a pioneer in using stem cell therapy in Motor Neuron Disease.
