Description
Zolex-S Tablet is a combination medicine which may be used in the treatment of social anxiety disorder, panic disorders, like unexpected extreme fear and tension due to stress, etc. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as it may cause withdrawal symptoms like seizures, aggressive behavior, blurred vision, etc.

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to alprazolam, sertraline, other benzodiazepines, or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

CYP3A4 inhibitors

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients who are concomitantly taking CYP3A4 inhibitors such as itraconazole, ketoconazole, etc due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Acute narrow-angle glaucoma

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with acute narrow-angle glaucoma due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Breast-feeding

General warnings

Drug Abuse

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of drug abuse. Chances of dependency are very high, especially if the intended use is for a long duration of time. Patients should be monitored closely for any changes in mood and behavior and any drug-seeking behavior; any such changes should be reported to the doctor immediately.

Suicidal tendencies

This medicine should be used with caution due to the increased risk of suicidal tendencies. Patients should be closely monitored for any change in mood or behavior. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Use in Children

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Use in Elderly

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in individuals who are 60 years old and above due to the increased risk of sedation and muscle weakness.

Kidney/Liver Diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney/liver diseases due to the increased risk of adverse effects. Regular monitoring of the kidney/liver function tests is necessary while receiving this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Driving or Operating machinery

Use of this medicine may cause blurred vision or dizziness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Respiratory depression

This medicine should be used with caution in patients especially at high doses due to increased risk of respiratory depression which may result in coma and death. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Weight loss

Significant weight loss is observed in the patients treated with this medicine. Frequent monitoring of body weight is necessary. Any changes in the body weight should be reported to the doctor.

Withdrawal symptoms

Abrupt discontinuation of this medicine may increase the risk of adverse effects, especially if you have been using a high dose for a long duration. A gradual dose reduction is recommended to avoid these reactions. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
