Description
Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT is a combination of Cefpodoxime and Clavulanic Acid. It is used to treat bacterial infections affecting your lungs, nose, throat, ears, skin and urinary tract. This medicine works by killing the bacteria, thereby preventing the further spread of infection. Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT shows some common side effects such as diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects remain for a long time or become severe. This medicine may also cause dizziness, so avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT. Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT can be taken with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take this medicine at the same time every day. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. Do not take this medicine without consulting your doctor as unnecessary use of an antibiotic may cause the bacteria to become resistant to antibiotics. Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have seizures (a condition that occurs due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain causing jerky movements), or liver, kidney, stomach, or intestinal problems. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria develop the ability to defeat the medicine that was intended to kill them. Hence, complete the entire course of treatment with Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT even if you feel better after a few doses to avoid antibiotic resistance.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for the missed dose.

Impaired kidney function

Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT is filtered by the kidney and excreted through urine. An impaired kidney can lead to its accumulation and cause undesirable effects. Hence, Zipod CV (100/62.5 mg) Tablet DT should be used with caution if you have kidney problems as it can increase the risk of kidney damage.

This helps to stop the growth and multiplication of the bacteria and eventually kills them. Clavulanic acid works by preventing the bacteria from destroying Cefpodoxime.
