Description
Virem 600 mg Tablet is an antiviral medicine used along with other medicines to treat the human immunodeficiency virus (a virus that attacks your body's immune system). This medicine is not a cure for HIV. It only prevents the virus from multiplying in your body which may decrease your chance of developing acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and HIV-related conditions like infections or cancer. Virem 600 mg Tablet works by decreasing the amount of HIV in your blood. Virem 600 mg Tablet may cause side effects like headache, diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain and constipation. Inform your doctor if the side effects become severe or persist for a long time. Virem 600 mg Tablet is available on prescription as a tablet and oral suspension. It is usually taken with food as prescribed by your doctor. You should keep taking this medicine for the prescribed duration, even if you feel better after a few doses. Complete the whole course to see the maximum benefits. Virem 600 mg Tablet is not recommended in children less than three years of age. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you take as this medicine can interact with them and cause serious side effects. If you have any pre-existing liver, kidney, or heart problems, inform your doctor about them. Virem 600 mg Tablet is not recommended in pregnancy and in breastfeeding mothers unless prescribed by your doctor.

Drug interaction

Virem 600 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you are taking medicines that are highly dependent on CYP3A (cytochrome P450 isoforms that are responsible for the breakdown of medicines in your body) for their clearance as well as strong CYP3A inducers (medicines like glucocorticoids, rifampin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, and phenytoin) due to an alteration in Virem 600 mg Tablet blood levels which may cause serious and life-threatening reactions.
