Description
Unidic A Tablet is a combination of Paracetamol and Aceclofenac. It is used to relieve pain in conditions like headache, mild migraines, muscle pain, joint pain, tooth pain, menstrual pain, ankylosing spondylitis (pain due to fusing of bones in the spine), osteoarthritis (pain on movement due to wearing of the protective covering at the ends of the bones) and rheumatoid arthritis (body's immunity attacks the joints and damages it). Unidic A Tablet show some side effects like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and diarrhoea. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive vehicles or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. Unidic A Tablet can be taken with food, milk, or an antacid to avoid stomach irritation. For the ease of remembering, take it at around the same time every day. Unidic A Tablet relieves pain and swelling due to arthritic conditions but does not cure it. Unidic A Tablet has to be taken with caution if you have peptic ulcers or any medical conditions of your liver and kidney. Unidic A Tablet may interact with alcohol, and you may see an increase in the side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and stomach bleeding. Unidic A Tablet may impact or get affected by other medications. Inform your doctor about all your current medications. Do not take other medications that have Paracetamol in them without consulting your doctor. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor before taking this medication.

Allergy

Unidic A Tablet is not recommended for use if you are is allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, swelling and/or itching (especially on your face, lips, throat), breathing difficulty, etc.

Severe kidney impairment

Long-term use of high doses of some painkillers may damage normal kidney function. Unidic A Tablet is not advised for use in individuals with severe kidney problems. People with kidney troubles should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

Severe liver impairment

Unidic A Tablet affects your liver when taken for a long period or in high doses. This medicine is not recommended if you have severe liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Peptic Ulcer

A peptic ulcer is a condition in which sores are developed on the inner lining of your stomach and intestine. Unidic A Tablet is an NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine) that can induce stomach ulcers, bleeding, or holes in the intestine if taken for a long time. This medicine is not recommended if you already have ulcers as it may worsen your condition.

Unidic A Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnancy. Taking this medication during pregnancy can result in heart defects in your foetus, delay in birth or may increase the risk of bleeding. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Breast-feeding

Unidic A Tablet may pass into breast milk and can affect your infant. Discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor before taking this medicine.
General warnings

Chronic malnutrition

Unidic A Tablet should be used with extreme caution if you are malnourished (decreased nutrients in your body) due to the increased risk of severe side effects.

Anemia

Unidic A Tablet should be used with caution if there is anaemia (decreased red blood cells) due to the increased risk of worsening of your condition.

Bleeding disorders

Unidic A Tablet may prolong the blood clotting time and therefore increase the risk of bleeding. Use it cautiously if there are bleeding or clotting defects such as haemophilia (a disorder in which blood does not clot normally), Vitamin K deficiency, and hypoprothrombinemia (deficiency of blood clotting substance called Prothrombin).

Driving or Operating machinery

Unidic A Tablet may cause sleepiness or dizziness in some people. Avoid driving vehicles and operate heavy machines after taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Unidic A Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose of Unidic A Tablet.

Heart Disease

Prolonged use of Unidic A Tablet is known to increase the risk of heart attack and stroke (reduced blood supply to your brain) in individuals with heart problems. Hence caution should be maintained.

Asthma

You may experience asthma (constriction of airways in your lungs) while taking Unidic A Tablet. Hence it is not recommended for use if you have asthma, especially when you experienced allergic reactions upon non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (pain killers) use.

Gastro-Intestinal toxicity

Long term use of Unidic A Tablet can cause damage to your stomach and intestine. Conditions like bleeding, ulceration and perforation of your stomach or intestinal wall can occur. Any symptom indicating ulceration and bleeding like indigestion, the appearance of dry blood in stools or vomiting of blood should be reported to your doctor immediately.

5-HIAA Urine Test

Unidic A Tablet can interfere with a urine test and may give a false-positive result. It is advised to inform your doctor and lab technician about all your current medicines before undergoing any lab test.
