Description
Ulcoat-O Suspension is a medicine that consists of Sucralfate and Oxetacaine. It is used for the treatment of ulcers in the stomach and intestine. It helps in relieving symptoms due to excess acid production in the stomach. Ulcoat-O Suspension helps in reducing excessive gas in the stomach thereby reduces acidity and discomfort in the stomach. Ulcoat-O Suspension may cause side effects like constipation, headache, nausea, indigestion, skin rash, etc. These effects are generally mild and subside with time. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms persist for a long time. Ulcoat-O Suspension may also cause dizziness and blurred vision. Hence, do not drive vehicles or operate machines after taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Ulcoat-O Suspension is a prescription medicine. It should be taken before food as advised by your doctor. For ease of remembering, take this medicine around the same time every day. Consuming more than the prescribed dose of Ulcoat-O Suspension is not recommended. Store this medicine at room temperature away from sunlight. Ulcoat-O Suspension is recommended for use in children only if advised by your paediatrician. Inform your doctor if you have any medical conditions such as diabetes (increased blood glucose levels), liver and kidney problems. Ulcoat-O Suspension is known to interact with antacids. A time gap of 2 hours should be maintained between the intake of both medicines. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breasting before using this medicine.

How it works
Ulcoat-O Suspension is a combination of Oxetacaine and Sucralfate. Sucralfate works by forming a protective layer over the ulcer and prevents the exposure of the ulcer to acid. Oxetacaine helps in reducing the generation of pain signals and blocks the pain signals from reaching the brain.
