Description
Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet is a combination of Clinidipine and Nebivolol. It is an anti-hypertensive medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure. This medicine works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels and improving blood flow. Thus, it helps to control high blood pressure. Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet shows side effects like swelling in your ankles or feet, headache, constipation, dizziness, tiredness, nausea and diarrhoea. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. The dose will depend on your blood pressure. If you forget to take a dose of this medicine, skip the missed dose and take the next scheduled dose instead. Do not stop the treatment abruptly as it can cause unwanted effects. Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it. This medicine is not recommended for use if you have severe liver or heart problems as it can worsen your condition. If you have pre-existing kidney and liver problems, or other medical conditions, inform your doctor about them. Report to your doctor about all the medications and supplements you are taking as this medicine can interact with them and may cause side effects. Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 18 years. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Allergy

Heart diseases

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have any heart problems. This includes heart block greater than first degree (a condition where the heartbeats are slow or abnormal), cardiogenic shock (a condition where your heart can't pump enough blood to your body), sick sinus syndrome (inability to create an adequate heart rate by the heart's natural pacemaker), sinus bradycardia (slow heartbeat), etc. This medicine weakens the contractions of your heart and reduces your blood pressure. Using it while you have heart problems will worsen your condition.

Severe liver disease

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have severe liver problems. This medicine is broken down and absorbed in the liver. Taking this medicine while you have a pre-existing liver problem may damage your liver further and worsen your condition.

Lung disease

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have lung problems such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, a condition where airflow from the lungs is obstructed) as this medicine has the potential to cause bronchospasm (narrowing of the airways in your lungs). Using this medicine while you have pre-existing lung problems can worsen your condition.

General warnings

Coronary artery disease

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet should be used with extreme caution if you have coronary artery diseases (a condition where the blood vessels of your heart are damaged, mainly due to the build-up of plaque). It may weaken the contractions of your heart and slow down the heart rate, which may further depress cardiac output (amount of blood pumped by the heart in a minute) and blood pressure. Your doctor will suggest tests to closely monitor your heart function while you are on treatment with this medicine.

Drug withdrawal

Abrupt discontinuation of Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet may increase the risk of chest pain. A gradual dose reduction is recommended to avoid these reactions. Do not stop taking this medicine unless directed by your doctor.

Use in children

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in children below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy studies are not clinically established.

Peripheral vascular diseases

Sports

It is advised to not indulge in certain sports while Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet is consumed as it may alter the heart condition. Archery, racing, shooting and other high-risk sports should be avoided. Sportspersons should refer to the list of medicine published by the World Anti-Doping Agency, which is not to be taken while participating in specific sports events.

Driving or operating machines

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet may cause blurred vision or dizziness. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving vehicles or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Kidney diseases

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have severe kidney problems. This medicine is excreted from your kidneys and using it while you have pre-existing kidney damage will lead to the accumulation of this medicine in your kidneys. This may increase the risk of toxicity and kidney failure. Your doctor will suggest tests to monitor your kidney functions regularly. He will also adjust the dose as necessary.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume at the scheduled time. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Diabetes

Myasthenia Gravis

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have Myasthenia gravis (rapidly developing weakness in your muscles) as it may increase muscle weakness along with certain symptoms such as visual disturbances and generalized weakness. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

Hyperlipidaemia

Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have hyperlipidaemia (high levels of fat in the blood). This medicine is known to alter the cholesterol levels in the blood. Your doctor will suggest tests to regularly check your cholesterol levels. He may also adjust the dose of this medicine as required.
Food interactions
Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with Twinnebi 2.5 mg Tablet as grapefruit juice can increase the absorption of this medicine in your blood. This could lead to excessive lowering of blood pressure or worsen side effects.
