Salicylic acid helps in breaking down the infected hard skin and helps to shed the broken skin. It also enhances the absorption of other medicines into the skin present in combination with it. Coal tar helps in making the skin softer and also helps in shedding off the hard, broken and infected skin for faster recovery.
