Description
Topisal 6% Lotion is a topical medicine composed of Clobetasol and Salicylic acid. It is used to manage symptoms of psoriasis, which is a skin condition that causes red, itchy scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp. This medicine works by reducing the production of chemical transmitters responsible for swelling and itching. Topisal 6% Lotion can cause side effects like exfoliation of skin (removal of dead skin) and redness at the applied site. Most of these side effects are temporary and resolve on their own. Consult your doctor if these side effects are persistent or worsen. Topisal 6% Lotion is for external use only. Apply this medicine as directed by your doctor. Try using this medicine at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of medicine in your body. Do not stop the application without consulting your doctor as your symptoms could reoccur. Topisal 6% Lotion is not recommended if you are allergic to it and in children below the age of 12 years. Do not use this medicine for other skin conditions without consulting your doctor. Inform your doctor about all your current medicines and pre-existing medical conditions. This will help your doctor to adjust your dose to avoid side effects. How it works
Clobetasol works by inhibiting the production of chemicals that cause inflammation.
