Description
Tinilox MPS Tablet is a combination medicine which may be used for the treatment of amebiasis which is a parasitic infection that affects the intestine and amebic liver abscess caused by Entamoeba histolytica. It also effectively relieves the symptoms of amebiasis such as stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and flatulence (stomach gas).

Allergy

General warnings

Blood cell count

This medicine may lower the blood cell count and may lead to leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and bone marrow aplasia. Close monitoring of WBC count, platelets is necessary while receiving this medicine. Discontinue the treatment if any signs of low blood cell count appear.

Neurologic Toxicity

This medicine may cause neurological effects like convulsions and peripheral neuropathy. Inform the doctor if you have any neurological problems. Any symptoms of convulsions, tingling or burning sensation of hands and feet should be reported to the doctor.

Kidney/Liver impairment

This medicine should be used with caution in patients having an impairment of the kidney/liver function. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Other medicines

This medicine may interact with many other medicines and may cause severe adverse effects. Hence, it is advised that you inform the doctor about all your current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Driving or operating machinery

How it works
Diloxanide Furoate and Tinidazole work by inhibiting the growth of protozoa by interfering with protein formation process leading to cell lysis. Simethicone reduces excessive gas in the stomach and relieves symptoms such as stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, and flatulence.
