Terizidone
Description
Terizidone is a second-line antitubercular medicine which helps to treat tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It should be taken with other medicines to prevent the spread of infection. It is important to continue treatment with this medicine even if the patient feels better; do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

General warnings
Driving and operating machinery
This medicine may cause symptoms such as dizziness, sleepiness, drowsiness, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.
Vitamin B12 and/or folic acid deficiency
Terizidone and other antituberculosis medicines have been associated with vitamin B12 and/or folic acid deficiency, megaloblastic anemia, and sideroblastic anemia. If evidence of anemia develops during treatment, appropriate investigations and treatment should be carried out.
Culture and sensitivity
Before initiating treatment with this medicine, cultures should be taken and the susceptibility of the organism to the medicine should be established. In tuberculous infections, sensitivity to the other anti-tuberculous agents in the regimen should also be demonstrated.
Kidney disease
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.
Liver disease
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.
Missed Dose
The missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is already time for your next scheduled dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
