Description

Tenovate-M Cream is a combination medicine which is used for the treatment of steroid responsive dermatoses associated with superficial fungal infections of the skin. This medicine is not recommended for use if you are known allergic to it.

Allergy

Acne vulgaris

This medicine is not recommended for the treatment of Acne vulgaris due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Acne Rosacea

This medicine is not recommended for the treatment of Acne rosacea due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Skin Infections not responsive to steroids

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from viral or bacterial infections of the skin that are not responsive to steroids.

Pregnancy

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine.

Breast-feeding

This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine.
General warnings

Chronic application

Chronic application of this medicine is not recommended since it may affect the growth and development of children.

Cushing's syndrome

This medicine may cause hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression and Cushing's syndrome in patients receiving high doses for a prolonged period. Any symptoms of swelling of the face, increase in the blood glucose levels, etc. should be informed to the doctor on priority. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Infections

This medicine may increase the risk of infections. Appropriate antibiotic treatment may be necessary in some cases to prevent the spread of infection.

External use

This medicine is only recommended for external use. Avoid contact with the mouth, eyes, mucous membranes, cuts, grazes, or wounds.

Use in children

Use of this medicine in patients less than 12 years of age should be done only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. For these patients, discontinuation of the treatment and appropriate clinical evaluation should be done if there is no improvement within 7 days.

Liver and/or kidney impairment

If this medicine is applied over a large surface area for a prolonged period of time, there is a chance of systemic absorption. Hence this medicine should be used with caution in patients with liver and/or kidney impairment. Appropriate dosage adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Allergic reactions

This medicine has the potential of causing moderate to severe allergic reactions in the body. Any instance indicative of allergic reactions should be reported to the doctor in the first instance.

Missed Dose

Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

An overdose of this medicine is not likely to cause severe symptoms. However, ingestion of this medicine may cause harm and immediate medical intervention may be required.

Apply a thin layer of the cream/ointment to the affected area as instructed by the doctor. Follow all the usage instructions mentioned on the label or the package insert. Do not apply in larger or smaller quantities than recommended. Do not cover the application area with bandages or other coverings unless specifically instructed by the doctor. Contact your doctor if symptoms do not improve or resolve after 1 week of use.

How it works
Clobetasol works by inhibiting the production of chemicals that cause inflammation. Miconazole acts by stopping the production of a certain vital component for the fungi. This results in disruption of the cell membrane formation process and inhibits the growth of the organism.
