Telmeron 40 MG Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure, prevent stroke and other heart diseases. A proper diet and regular exercise should be maintained along with taking this medicine. This medicine is effective in elderly population who are at higher risk of developing heart diseases.

Allergy

General warnings

Hypotension

Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or those who treated with high dose diuretics. Correct the condition before starting Telmeron 40 MG Tablet or start the treatment at reduced doses.

Hyperkalemia

Telmeron 40 MG Tablet may cause Hyperkalemia (a condition with an increase in the potassium levels in the blood). Use with caution in patients with concomitant use of potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements and in patients with impaired kidney function.

Impaired liver function

The elimination of Telmeron 40 MG Tablet is reduced in liver disease. Start treatment at low doses and titrate slowly.

Pediatric population

The safety and efficacy of Telmeron 40 MG Tablet has not been established in children and adolescents age below 18 years.

Missed Dose

The missed dose should be taken as soon possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is already time for your next scheduled dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Interaction with Alcohol

Description

Use of Telmeron 40 MG Tablet with alcohol will have an additive effect in lowering the blood pressure.

Congestive heart failure

Telmeron 40 MG Tablet is used with caution in patients with congestive heart failure (especially in volume or sodium depletion). Transient hypotension is also not a contraindication for this medicine. It is usually reinstated when blood pressure reaches the normal value.
