Description

Tacalcitol is an antipsoriatic agent used for the treatment of psoriasis, a skin disorder characterized by the red, raised, well-defined plaques on the skin. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age.

General warnings

Kidney Disease

This medicine is should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases due to the increased risk of adverse effects and hypercalcemia. Regular monitoring of the serum calcium levels is necessary while receiving this medicine. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Use in Pediatrics

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established

Vitamin D

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients who are taking vitamin D preparations more than 500IU due to the increased risk of hypercalcemia. Regular monitoring of the serum calcium levels is necessary while receiving this medicine. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

External use

This medicine is recommended for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes, or open wounds.
