Description
Sylate -T 500 Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of Tranexamic acid and Ethamsylate. It is used for the treatment of prolonged or heavy menstrual bleeding. This medicine prevents the breakdown of blood clots in your body and also increases the ability of platelets to stick together and helps in the formation of blood clots. Thus, Sylate -T 500 Tablet effectively control excessive bleeding. Sylate -T 500 Tablet shows common side effects like nausea, stomach pain, headache, and joint pain. It may also cause diarrhoea in some people. Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration if you experience diarrhoea. Consult your doctor at the earliest if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Sylate -T 500 Tablet is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age. Sylate -T 500 Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take this medicine at the same time every day as prescribed by your doctor and do not change the dose and frequency on your own. Do not stop using this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor. Consult your doctor if you do not notice any improvement in 3 consecutive periods. Sylate -T 500 Tablet can impact the action of other medicines. Inform your doctor if you have any other medical conditions such as kidney or heart problems, porphyria, bleeding disorder, etc. and also your ongoing medicines. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding before taking this medicine. Stick to simple meals and avoid spicy rich food in order to avoid feeling sick. If you get diarrhoea while taking this medicine, consult your doctor immediately. Along with taking Sylate -T 500 Tablet, you can use a heating pad to get relief during periods. Inform your doctor if there is no improvement in your bleeding after using this medicine for three consecutive periods. Do not crush, break or chew Sylate -T 500 Tablet in the mouth. Take the tablet immediately after peeling it from the strip. Keep the medicine away from the reach of children and pets. Ensure that the unused or expired medicine is disposed of properly.

How it works
Sylate -T 500 Tablet contains tranexamic acid and ethamsylate. Tranexamic acid works by preventing certain enzymes that break down a blood clot formed in the body. Ethamsylate acts by stabilizing the walls of the capillaries, increasing platelet aggregation to form clots. Thus it controls bleeding.
