Description
Starval 80 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure and other heart complications. Proper diet and exercise should be followed along with the treatment to get the best possible result. Do not take this medicine if you have a known allergy to it. This medicine is not recommended for use in children less than 6 years of age.

Allergy

Coadministration of aliskiren and this medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with diabetes and kidney diseases.

General warnings

Hypotension

Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or patients who are treated with high doses of diuretics. It is advised to correct the condition before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Hyperkalemia

This medicine may increase potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). This may cause serious side effects such as fatal cardiac rhythm irregularities. It is advised to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and other medicines that may increase potassium levels (potassium-sparing diuretics and potassium supplements) during treatment with this medicine.

Use in children

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 6 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Aortic stenosis

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from aortic stenosis due to the increased risk of very low blood pressure. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Liver disease

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of liver disease or active liver disease. Close monitoring of liver function levels may be necessary for such patients while taking this medicine.
