Sodium Aminosalicylate

Description

Sodium Aminosalicylate is an antimycobacterial medicine used to treat tuberculosis. It is generally used in patients who have acquired resistance to other anti-tubercular medicines. It is usually taken in combination with other medicines to treat all types of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney impairment.

Liver function impairment

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from liver diseases or patients at risk of liver diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function tests is necessary while receiving this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Driving or operating machinery

This medicine may cause dizziness or visual disturbances in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Stomach ulcer

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from stomach ulcer due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects.
