Description
Sinarest Plus Suspension is a combination medicine which may be used for the temporary relief of a runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose, itchy throat, sore throat, etc. caused by conditions such as a common cold, allergic rhinitis, and other upper respiratory allergies. It also relieves sinus and nasal congestion. It may provide relief from sinus pain and headache.

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use by patients with a known history of allergy to Paracetamol, Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine, Sodium Citrate, Menthol, or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.

Analgesic Nephropathy (Kidney Disease)

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from kidney diseases associated with the excessive use of painkillers due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Severe liver impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

Hypertension

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe hypertension due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Ventricular tachycardia

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with ventricular tachycardia due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

How it works
Paracetamol works by increasing the pain threshold and decreases swelling. It also brings down elevated body temperature by acting on heat regulatory centers in the brain. Phenylephrine acts by reducing the swelling of the blood vessels in the nasal passages, making it easier to breathe. Chlorpheniramine blocks the action of certain substances produced by the body which induces allergic reactions. Sodium citrate works by neutralizing the acid in the stomach and urine. Menthol causes a feeling of coolness and also reduces itching and pain.
