General warnings

Suicidal thoughts

This medicine may cause suicidal behavior in some patients. This risk is especially higher on the prolonged usage of the medicine. Patients should be monitored closely for any changes in behavior and mood; any such changes should be reported to the doctor immediately. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Skin reactions

This medicine may cause severe skin reactions like stevens-johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.Report to your doctor if any symptoms appear and discontinue the treatment as early as possible.

Withdrawal symptoms

This medicine may cause withdrawal symptoms if the usage is stopped abruptly. This risk is especially higher after prolonged usage of this medicine. The treatment should be withdrawn gradually under the close supervision of your doctor. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Impaired liver function

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver injury. Lowest possible doses should be initiated and increase the dose based on the patient's response. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver injury.

Impaired kidney function

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of kidney diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of kidney function is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Blood cell count

This medicine may cause agranulocytosis and leukopenia. Frequent monitoring of blood cell count is necessary. Any signs of low blood count should be reported to the doctor.

Low sodium levels

This medicine may lower the sodium levels in the body and may cause clinically significant hyponatremia (Sodium levels less than 125 mmol/L). Any signs and symptoms of low sodium levels, nausea, headache, weakness should be reported to the doctor.

Driving or operating machinery

This medicine may cause blurred vision, dizziness or drowsiness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

Take/administer the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
