Disease interactions
Salbair-B Transhaler may suppress the immune response (body's defense against infections) and mask the symptoms of infection. Hence, it may increase the risk of infection or worsen any current infections.
Hyperadrenocorticism is a condition characterised by high levels of cortisol hormone in the blood. Rarely, the use of Salbair-B Transhaler in high doses or for a prolonged time may cause or worsen hyperadrenocorticism.
Ocular herpes simplex is an eye infection caused by the Herpes simplex virus (HSV) which often leads to blindness. Salbair-B Transhaler may increase the risk of damage or perforation in the cornea (protective outer layer of your eyes) if you have ocular herpes simplex.
Use Salbair-B Transhaler with caution if you have liver problems. This medicine is broken down in your liver. Impaired liver function may increase the accumulation of this medicine in your body which may damage your liver further. Your doctor may suggest tests to regularly monitor your liver function and recommended dose adjustments based on your clinical condition.
Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weak. Long-term use of Salbair-B Transhaler may cause a decrease in bone density (amount of minerals in the bones) which may lead to bone fracture. Hence, inform your doctor if you have any bone-related problems. Your doctor may prescribe an alternative medicine or recommend an appropriate dose based on your clinical condition.
Salbair-B Transhaler should be used with caution if you have heart and blood vessel problems as it may affect your heart rate, blood pressure, heart rhythm, etc., and lead to further complications. Consult your doctor before beginning treatment with this medicine.
