Description
Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule is a combination of Rosuvastatin and Aspirin. It lowers the bad cholesterol and triglyceride (type of fats) levels in your body. It also prevents the risk of heart attack and stroke (a condition that causes reduced oxygen supply to the brain). This medicine works by dissolving the blood clot and reducing the production of unwanted fats in your body. Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule has some side effects like nausea, muscle pain, weakness, headache, stomach pain and discomfort, etc. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if they bother you for a long time or become severe. This medicine may also increase the risk of bleeding. Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule may be taken after a meal to avoid stomach irritation. Take it every day at the same time for the ease of remembering. Avoid taking more than the prescribed dose as it may lead to side effects. Avoid the discontinuation of this medicine without consulting your doctor as it may worsen your condition. Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Avoid taking this medicine if you have bleeding problems, or severe liver or kidney problems. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, or have any other medical conditions before starting the treatment. Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule is not recommended for use in children below 16 years of age due to lack of safety data. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding.

Allergy

Bleeding disorder

Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule is not recommended for use if you have active bleeding or haemorrhagic disorders such as haemophilia (a condition where your blood does not clot normally), von Willebrand's disease (a bleeding disorder caused by low levels of clot protein in your blood), or telangiectasia (a condition where small blood vessels located near the skin surface widen). This medicine prevents blood clot formation by permanently reducing platelet (cells that form clots) aggregation and thus increasing your bleeding time.

Severe kidney impairment

Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule is not recommended for use if you have severely impaired kidneys as a damaged kidney will not filter the medicine completely out of your body, leading to toxicity.

Peptic ulcer

Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule is not recommended for use if you have an active or a history of peptic ulcers (sores in the lining of your stomach and intestine due to excess acid production). This medicine may further cause stomach and intestinal bleeding and worsen your health condition.

Active liver disease

Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule is broken down in your liver. Hence, this medicine is not recommended if you have pre-existing liver problems as it may lead to the accumulation of this medicine in your blood and increase the risk of side effects. It may also cause further liver damage.

Asthma is a condition that occurs due to the narrowing of your airways leading to breathing difficulty. Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule should be used with caution if you have asthma as this medicine may cause bronchospasm (tightening of the muscles that line your airways).

Kidney disease

Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule should be used with caution if you have kidney problems as it may worsen your health condition. A high dose of this medicine used for a prolonged time may increase the risk of side effects. Your doctor may suggest tests to regularly monitor your kidney function while you are taking this medicine.

Cognitive impairment

Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule should be used with caution if you have cognitive impairment (a condition that causes a decline in mental abilities like memory and thinking skills). This medicine may cause memory loss, forgetfulness, confusion, etc. However, these side effects are not serious and resolve after discontinuation of this medicine.

Surgery

Inform your doctor about the use of Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule before undergoing surgery (including tooth extraction) as it may increase the risk of bleeding.

Use in elderly

Missed Dose

Try not to skip the dose of Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule. In case you missed a dose, take it immediately. However, if the delay is more than 12 hours, skip the dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency

Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase is an enzyme that is responsible for the proper functioning of red blood cells. Its deficiency may lead to the breakdown of red blood cells. Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule should be used with caution as it may worsen the condition and may lead to anaemia (low red blood cells).

Rhabdomyolysis

Rhabdomyolysis is a serious condition caused by the breakdown of muscle tissues. It may lead to complications such as kidney damage. Rosulip ASP 75 Capsule should be used with caution if you have rhabdomyolysis as it may further worsen your condition.
