Description
Rhumacort Injection is a combination of Diclofenac and Paracetamol. This medicine is effective in providing relief from pain and swelling associated with conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis (pain due to fusing of bones in the spine), osteoarthritis (pain on movement due to wearing of the protective covering at the ends of the bones) and rheumatoid arthritis (body's immunity attacks the joints and damages it). Rhumacort Injection works by blocking certain chemical substances in your body that are responsible for causing pain and swelling. Rhumacort Injection may cause some less common side effects such as headache, dizziness, stomach pain, diarrhoea/constipation, skin rash, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Rhumacort Injection is given by your doctor in a clinic or a hospital setting. Your doctor will determine the dose and duration of the treatment based on your condition. Follow the instructions given by your doctor. Rhumacort Injection is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, respiratory problems or a history of stomach ulcers before starting treatment with this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding before using this medication. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age.

Asthma

Rhumacort Injection is not recommended if you have a history of asthma (constriction of airways in your lungs) due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Severe kidney impairment

Severe kidney impairment is a condition of reduced kidney function. Rhumacort Injection is not recommended if you have a history of kidney problems due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Active peptic ulcer

Rhumacort Injection is not recommended if you have peptic ulcers (an open sore that occurs on the inner lining of your stomach and the upper region of your small intestine) or a history of peptic ulceration due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Rhumacort Injection may increase your risk of this condition and should be used with caution if you have a history of fluid retention, high blood pressure, or heart failure. Close monitoring of your blood pressure and heart function is recommended during the initiation of treatment and throughout the course of therapy.

How it works
Rhumacort Injection is a combination of Diclofenac and Paracetamol. Diclofenac works by preventing the formation of certain chemical substances in your body that are responsible for causing pain and swelling. Paracetamol works by decreasing the intensity of pain signals to your brain. It also stops the release of prostaglandins, the chemical responsible for pain and an increase in body temperature.
