Description
Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray is a corticosteroid medicine (medicines that help in reducing pain, swelling and irritation of the affected part) containing Budesonide. It is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes caused by allergens) in children, adolescents and adults. This medicine is not recommended to treat symptoms of the common cold. Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in your body that cause swelling and irritation. Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray may cause some side effects like sore throat, cough and hoarse voice. Inform your doctor if the side effects become severe or persist. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it. Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray is not recommended for use in children below 6 years unless prescribed by your doctor. Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray is a prescription medicine. It should be used as instructed by your doctor. Follow all the instructions given in the leaflet. Even if you see an improvement in your condition, do not stop using it without consulting your doctor. If you discontinue the use of Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray too soon, your symptoms may relapse. Impaired liver function

Use Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray with caution if you have liver problems. This medicine is broken down in your liver. An impaired liver may lead to the accumulation of this medicine in your body which may damage your liver further. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your liver function.

Decrease bone density

Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray may decrease the bone density by reducing calcium absorption. Hence, it should be used with caution due to the risk of developing bone injuries especially if you are a postmenopausal woman.

Growth retardation

Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray may cause growth retardation in some children, especially if used in high doses for a long time. Therefore, children taking this medicine should be monitored closely concerning growth parameters.

Candida infection

Use of Rhinocort 50 MCG Nasal Spray for extended periods may cause candida infection (a fungal infection that may affect your mouth, throat and nose). Hence, avoid using it for a long time.

Diabetes

Hyperadrenocorticism

Hyperadrenocorticism is a condition caused by prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol (a corticosteroid hormone).
