Reflin 500 mg Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of conditions such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, endocarditis, skin and skin structure infections, etc. It should be avoided if you are allergic to other cephalosporins. The most common side effect of this medicine is diarrhea.

Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea

Avoid using if you experience severe diarrhea after receiving Reflin 500 mg Injection. This is because antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the microbial flora of the large intestine, decreasing the gut friendly bacteria and promoting the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium Difficile, resulting in diarrhea.

Drug resistance

Usage of Reflin 500 mg Injection without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug resistant.
