Description
Razel Gold Capsule is a combination medicine that may be used for the treatment of acute coronary syndrome (a sudden reduction or blockage of blood flow to the heart), hyperlipidemia (a high level of lipids (fats, cholesterol and triglycerides) circulating in the blood), and also for the prevention of ischemic stroke (a blood clot blocks or narrows an artery leading to the brain). This medicine prevents clot formation in the blood vessels and also lowers down the levels of bad cholesterol (Lower density lipoproteins) in the blood. This medicine decreases the risk of heart complications such as heart attack. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age. You should follow a strict diet regimen and exercise along with this medicine to get its best efficacy. The common side effects of Razel Gold Capsule are stomach pain, diarrhoea, muscle pain, nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor at the earliest if any of these side effects persist or worsen. This medicine may cause bleeding, so be cautious while shaving, cutting nails or using sharp objects. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. You can take Razel Gold Capsule with food to prevent any stomach irritation. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own even if you feel better as it may worsen the condition. Discuss all the known illnesses and active medications with your doctor before taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor may advise you on some tests such as lipid profile, INR (International Normalized ratio), blood sugar levels, etc., to make sure this medicine is working properly.

Allergy

General warnings

Gastrointestinal disease

Caution should be exercised while using Razel Gold Capsule in patients suffering from gastrointestinal disease, as it may increase the risk of stomach or intestinal bleeding. Close monitoring of the clinical condition, INR and blood count is indicated.

Cognitive impairment

Razel Gold Capsule should be used with extreme caution since it may the risk of forgetfulness, memory loss, confusion, etc., in some patients. These side effects are reversible and usually disappear once the medicine is discontinued.

Altered blood sugar levels

Razel Gold Capsule may cause an alteration in the blood sugar levels. This risk is especially higher in patients with diabetes mellitus. Close monitoring of blood sugar levels may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Myopathy and rhabdomyolysis

Razel Gold Capsule may cause muscle breakdown and rhabdomyolysis in some patients, a condition that can be fatal. This may cause symptoms such as severe tiredness and weakness. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with active muscle disorders. Close monitoring of the kidney function and clinical condition is indicated.

Alcohol consumption

Razel Gold Capsule may cause liver and kidney injuries in patients consuming alcohol very frequently and in large quantities. Hence, consumption of alcohol should be avoided during treatment with this medicine.

Use in children

The safety and efficacy of Razel Gold Capsule in children less than 18 years is not known or studied.

Kidney disease

Razel Gold Capsule gets excreted through kidney. An impaired kidney increases the risk of accumulation of this medicine in the kidneys that may lead to severe undesirable effects and may also worsen the condition of a compromised kidney. Close monitoring of kidney function is indicated.

Asthma

Razel Gold Capsule is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of aspirin-sensitive asthma. This medicine may narrow the air pathway and provoke mucous secretion in the air pathway, thus elevating asthmatic episodes and severe breathing difficulty.

Driving or operating machinery

Use of Razel Gold Capsule may cause drowsiness or dizziness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Razel Gold Capsule as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume at the scheduled time. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case you suspect Razel Gold Capsule overdose.

Razel Gold Capsule is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of bleeding disorders due to the increased risk of excessive bleeding. An alternative treatment option should be considered based on the clinical conditions.

Diabetes

Caution should be exercised while using Razel Gold Capsule in patients with diabetes mellitus due to the increased risk of altered blood sugar levels. This medicine increases the blood sugar levels in the blood. Close monitoring of blood sugar levels is indicated for such patients.

Rhabdomyolysis

Caution should be exercised while using Razel Gold Capsule in patients with rhabdomyolysis (a serious condition in which there is a leakage of damaged muscle tissue in the blood, characterized by muscle weakness and tenderness) due to the increased risk of renal failure and death. Close monitoring of the clinical condition and kidney function test is indicated.
