Description
Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. It is used in the treatment of high blood cholesterol and triglycerides (fats) levels. This medicine works by blocking the production of unhealthy fats in your body and prevents the risk of heart problems and stroke (a condition that causes reduced oxygen supply to the brain). Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet has some side effects like headache, nausea, weakness, muscle pain, and stomach pain. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if these side effects last for a long time or become severe. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine as it may cause liver damage. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take the dose as prescribed by your doctor. Take it regularly at the same time for the ease of remembering. Never take more than the prescribed dose. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as it may increase the lipid (fat) levels in your body. Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use if you have severe kidney problems, pre-existing liver conditions, or gallbladder conditions such as gallstones (solid deposits that develop in your gallbladder). Use this medicine with caution if you have diabetes or hypothyroidism (low levels of thyroid hormone in the body). Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.

Allergy

Liver disease

Severe kidney disease

Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use if you have severe kidney problems. This medicine is exerted through urine and improper kidney function may lead to its accumulation. It may further lead to rhabdomyolysis (leakage of muscle contents into the blood circulation) and severe hyperkalemia (high level of potassium in your blood).

Gallbladder disease

Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use if you have any conditions affecting your gallbladder such as gallstones (solid deposits that develop in your gallbladder, a small pouch that stores bile produced by the liver). This medicine may further increase the risk of gallstones due to increased excretion of cholesterol into the bile (a fluid produced in the liver that helps in digestion).

Hematologic changes

Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet may increase the risk of a decrease in blood cell count. Your doctor may suggest tests for monitoring your complete blood count during the treatment with this medicine.

Use in elderly

Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet should be used with caution in the elderly as it may increase the risk of kidney damage and serious side effects.

Missed Dose

Do not skip any dose of Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one.

Razel Forte F (5/160 mg) Tablet is a combination of Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate. Rosuvastatin reduces the production of cholesterol from the liver. Fenofibrate works by increasing the natural lipid (fat) breakdown process with the help of an enzyme. This removes the bad cholesterol and triglycerides from your blood and increases the levels of good cholesterol.
