Description
Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler is a combination of Budesonide and Formoterol. It is used in the treatment of asthma (a condition with swollen and narrow airways in your lungs, resulting in breathing difficulties). Formoterol works by relaxing and opening the blocked air passages of your lungs and improves breathing. Budesonide works by decreasing the formation of certain chemical substances in your body that are responsible for causing pain and swelling. Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler may cause common side effects such as cough, sore throat, headache, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler should be administered exactly as directed by your doctor. Administer it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of this medicine in your body. Avoid discontinuing the treatment without consulting your doctor as it may worsen your condition. Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have pre-existing heart, liver or eye problems before beginning treatment with this medicine. Close evaluation with respect to your current medicines is necessary to avoid any undesired side effects. Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler is not recommended for use in children below six years of age. If you are pregnant, or breastfeeding, or are planning a pregnancy, consult your doctor before administering this medication.

Allergy

Status asthmaticus

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler is not recommended as a first-line treatment for status asthmaticus (a severe, acute asthma attack), since this medicine is not adequately effective in treating this condition.

Hypokalemia

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler may increase your risk of hypokalaemia (low blood potassium levels). Your blood potassium levels need to be closely monitored.

Use in children

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler is not recommended for use in children below six years of age due to a lack of safety and efficacy studies.

Infections

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler may increase your risk of infections. Your body temperature and blood cell count need to be closely monitored.

Other medicines

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler may interact with other medicines and cause undesired side effects. Hence, inform your doctor about your current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler should be used with caution if you have a history of cardiac problems such as arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat), hypertension (high blood pressure), etc due to the increased risk of severe side effects and worsening your condition. Your electrolyte levels, electrocardiograms (ECGs) and blood pressure need to be periodically monitored to assess your heart function.

Diabetes

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler should be used with caution if you have diabetes (a condition with high blood sugar levels) due to the increased risk of hyperglycaemia (high blood sugar levels). Your blood sugar levels need to be closely monitored.

Liver impairment

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler is metabolized and broken down by the liver and should be used with caution if you have pre-existing liver problems due to the increased risk of undesired side effects, resulting from the accumulation of this medicine in your body. Your liver function needs to be closely monitored and dose adjustments may be required based on your clinical condition.

Seizures

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler should be used with caution if you have a history of seizures (fits) due to the increased risk of a seizure attack.

Ocular Toxicities

Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler may cause an increase in your intraocular pressure (fluid pressure inside your eyeballs) and increase your risk of glaucoma (a condition in which your intraocular pressure is abnormally high that can lead to optic nerve damage and eventual loss of your vision). Inform your doctor if you have a history of eye problems before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Osteoporosis

Long-term use of Quikhale FB 100-DPI Inhaler may result in reduced bone density and increase your risk of osteoporosis (a condition with weak and brittle bones). This medicine should be used with caution if you have a history of osteoporosis. Your calcium levels need to be closely monitored.
