Description
Pregabid-D 50 Capsule is a combination of Pregabalin and Duloxetine. It is used in the treatment of pain caused due to damaged nerves. It relieves pain by decreasing certain chemicals substances that send pain signals throughout your body. Pregabid-D 50 Capsule may cause side effects like are nausea, dry mouth, swelling in your hands or feet, weight gain, weakness, confusion, etc. These symptoms may subside by themselves. However, consult your doctor if they bother you. Avoid driving or operating heavy machines as it may cause drowsiness. Pregabid-D 50 Capsule may be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time every day for better results. Your doctor will determine the dosage and duration of this medication based on your condition. Never take more than the prescribed dose. Avoid the discontinuation of this medicine without consulting your doctor as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms like headache, mood swings, irritation, etc. Pregabid-D 50 Capsule is not recommended if your allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney, liver, or heart problems. It is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as there is no safety and efficacy data established. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Allergy

Avoid taking Pregabid-D 50 Capsule if you are previously allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulties, etc.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors

Avoid taking Pregabid-D 50 Capsule if you are using monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) (depression tablets) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

Liver Disease

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule is not recommended if you have liver problems as it may worsen your condition.

Pregnancy

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule is not recommended during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant.

Breast-feeding

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule is not recommended while breastfeeding as it may pass into breastmilk. Consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
General warnings

Abnormal bleeding

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule may increase the risk of bleeding especially if you are taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, Aspirin, or Warfarin. You should report any symptoms of abnormal bleeding to your doctor on priority.

Low sodium levels

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule should be used with caution if you have lower sodium levels in your body. This risk is higher in the elderly population or if you are taking Diuretics (medicine that increases excretion of sodium and water via urine). Your doctor may regularly monitor sodium levels in your body. If you experience any unusual symptoms, consult your doctor.

Withdrawal symptoms

Abrupt discontinuation of Pregabid-D 50 Capsule may lead to the increased risk of withdrawal symptoms such as irritability, mood swings, depression, nervousness, etc. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Kidney disease

You should use Pregabid-D 50 Capsule should be used with caution if you have kidney problems. It is not recommended if you have severe kidney problems (CrCl less than 30 ml/min). Your kidney function has to be monitored regularly. Your doctor may recommend an appropriate dose adjustment or alternative medicine based on your clinical condition.

Driving or operating machines

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule may increase the risk of drowsiness, dizziness, difficulty in concentrating, etc. Hence, you should not perform any activities such as driving or operating machines if you experience any of the symptoms.

Heart disease

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule should be used with caution if you have heart problems as it causes abnormal heart rhythm which could result in further complications. This medicine may also cause retention of fluid in your body and increase the risk of heart failure. It is more likely to occur in elderly people with compromised heart function. Your doctor will closely monitor the functioning of your heart.

Use in Children

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of this medicine is not clinically established.

Potential for abuse

Pregabid-D 50 Capsule may cause dependency, especially if you have used other recreational medicines in the past. Inform your doctor if you have a history of substance abuse before receiving this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe a suitable alternative.

High creatinine kinase levels

Myopathy is a condition in which the muscles do not function properly leading to muscle weakness. Use Pregabid-D 50 Capsule with caution in such conditions as this medicine causes an increase in the creatine kinase levels which may worsen your condition.

Suicidal tendencies

Use Pregabid-D 50 Capsule with caution as it can cause suicidal thoughts. Close monitoring of mood and behaviour is recommended. Inform your doctor if you experience any symptoms.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Pregabid-D 50 Capsule as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose of Pregabid-D 50 Capsule. Seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor in case of an overdose for further guidance.
