Description
Pramipex 0.125 Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). Parkinson's disease is a disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, often including tremors (shivering), rigid movements, muscle stiffness, etc. It results from nerve cell damage in the brain which causes low levels of dopamine (a chemical messenger that plays important role in movement, memory, mood, motivation, etc.) in the body. Restless leg syndrome is a condition characterised by a nearly irresistible urge to move the legs, typically at night, which causes disruption in sleep. Pramipex 0.125 Tablet works by imitating dopamine hormone, which in turn helps to reduce symptoms of Parkinson's disease (stiffness, tremors, muscle spasms, and poor muscle control) and Restless Legs Syndrome. Pramipex 0.125 Tablet shows common side effects such as nausea, fatigue, constipation, confusion, increased urination, and dry mouth. These side effects usually subside with time. However, consult your doctor for further assistance if they persist or worsen. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines while taking this medication as it can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Pramipex 0.125 Tablet may be taken with or without food, as directed by your doctor. Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet. Take the medication at the same time every day for ease of remembering. Do not break, crush or chew the tablet. Follow the instructions given by your doctor about the dose and duration of treatment. Do not discontinue the medicine without consulting your doctor as your symptoms may worsen. Avoid the consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine due to the increased risk of side effects. Pramipex 0.125 Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it. It should be taken with caution if you have kidney conditions, rhabdomyolysis (breakdown of muscule tissue leading to release of muscle fibre contents into the blood, which may further cause kidney damage), dyskinesia (uncontrolled body movement), low blood pressure, or mental health conditions. Pramipex 0.125 Tablet should be taken during pregnancy only after consulting your doctor. It is unknown whether the medicine passes into breast milk. Hence, consult your doctor before taking the medicine if you are breastfeeding. It is not recommended in children below 18 years of age. Pramipex 0.125 Tablet should be taken with caution if you are 65 years of age due to the increased risk of side effects.
