Description
Pmt 5% Lotion is a medicine that contains Permethrin. It is used to treat scabies (a contagious itchy skin condition caused by mites). It also kills head lice. This medicine kills the mites and their eggs and cures the infection. Pmt 5% Lotion has some side effects like itching/redness on the skin, rash at the site of application, etc. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects bother you or worsen. Do not use this lotion if you are allergic to it. Pmt 5% Lotion is for external use only. Clean the affected area before applying this medicine. Gently apply a thin layer of the lotion as prescribed by your doctor. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after application. Leave it on your scalp for more than 10 minutes, wash it with warm water. Dry your hair and comb to remove the remaining mite, lice, and eggs. Avoid contact with your face, eyes and mouth as it may cause irritation. Rinse thoroughly with water in case of accidental contact. Pmt 5% Lotion is not recommended for use in children below 2 months of age as the safety and efficacy data for use are not available. Inform your doctor if you have any other skin conditions and all your current medicines. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding before using this medicine.
