Pirfenidone

Description

Pirfenidone is used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive lung disease that causes scarring of the lungs. This medicine is not recommended for use in children.

Smoking

Severe sunburn

On exposure to sunlight, this medicine may cause severe sunburn in some patients. Hence it is advised to avoid exposure to sunlight or wear protective clothing when you are exposed to sunlight.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with mild to moderate liver impairment due to the risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Kidney impairment
